Other characters included Gidney & Cloyd, little green men from the moon who were armed with scrooch guns; Captain Peter "Wrongway" Peachfuzz, the captain of the S.S. Andalusia; and the inevitable onlookers, Edgar and Chauncy.

The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle
I think this is possibly the oldest show on the BCC so far as it originally aired in November 1959 in America! I used to watch this in the late 80's though in the summer holiday mornings, It's Rocky and Bullwinkle!
